About

I have a friend who really a GOOD man. He’s battled demons of his dad and mom, as well as their marriage. Gone toe to toe with drugs, thugs, and bugs…lived on the streets wandering about …lost spiritually, lost directionally, and didn’t know what a real man was or what he did.

Then He met The Man from Galillee and He changed my friends life. That’s when I met him. Truly born again.

So I gave him my book, Stepping Up, and he didn’t read a page of it. Rather than escavating and going to work in the soil of his heart, it gathered dust. I discovered he wasn’t a reader. Ok, I said…you have a 25’ commute, I’ll meet you as you go to work and come home. And I gave him this podcast book. He’s been stepping up ever since. He’s a GOOD man.

Here’s the truth…I am bullish on men learning how to follow Jesus and surrendering to Him. I don’t beat men up with words, I call them with the Words of Scripture. And I invite them to join me on a journey, to step up and through the five steps every man should take. The steps are:

1. Boyhood “A boy without a father giving him training and direction is like an explorer in the wilderness of Alaska without a map.”

2. Adolescence A call to the emerging young man to turn his back on foolishness and step up to wisdom.

3. Manhood This is the step that calls “boys” up and out of selfishness and to kneel and surrender to almighty God, giving up himself for others in life, marriage and family.

4. Mentor Every man needs a mentor and every man needs to be a mentor.

5. Patriarch The view from this step is magnificent…not of control of others with money, relationships, or authoritarian leadership. But one of being a generational protector, connector and influencer for the glory of God.

The Stepping Up Podcasts that follow are worthy of the 10-15 minutes they take to listen to. Every boy, young man, man, and sage needs a vision for his journey. They represent my best shot at giving you courage for your journey. I hope they either put you right to sleep or keep you awake with excitement for your expedition … nothing in between those two.

Enjoy!
